What a night!
We had over 150 people come through the doors of our event at Spark Burea on Ocean Street and what a kick ass night it was. I could not believe the traction the event had - especially for our first time as organisers.
We were so lucky with the lineup of talent who put their hands up to perform, the stallholders who packed their cars with goods and setup shop and the all hands on deck attitude our awesome friends had when it came to volunteering their time, wether that was on the door, selling raffle tickets or helping us pack down.
Larry was flowing courtesy of Christen & Matt from Your Mates. Something for Catering served up cocktails and the amazing Konpira Maru, a locally owned, not to mention delicious & organic wine. The night ran as smooth as butter and all the acts put on such great performances.
We opened the night with acoustics Duo from Brisbane 'Devereux' - their smooth Gypsy Jazz inspired instrumentals lulled us into the right mood and added some electricity to the air.
Mudjimba's Christian Patey followed with his funky keyboard in tow giving us an ALT+J meets Vance Joy style - smooth crispy melodies and big sounds.
We stepped up a notch when local Shae Jackson AKA "Beverly Thrills" stepped on stage and put on an electric vocal/dj set - covering some seriously amazing bangers to come out of 2016.
And we closed with the legendary Dream Thieves Band of Bribie Island. They absolutely killed it and were such an epic closing band. They had everyone up dancing (moshing) and I even spied a few crowd surfers during the set.
I can not begin to express the gratitude I have. Thank-you to everyone involved.
